Think of a plane, a hospital, a classroom, a boat, a company, a kitchen, think about whatever structure you want to think about : if democracy was applied there, it would simply be catastrophic.
That’s of course the reason why, efficiency wise, States are the worst structures. States produce paper and speeches, States produce taxes and debt ; States don’t have a vision, States don’t have a project, States dont keep a direction. But of course… for the sake of social peace… better keep democracy.
In a recent article, Michael Arrington pointed this well-known fact : if you listen to people around you, you never produce anything else than an average boring product.
you get vanilla. feature creep. boring. It takes a dictator to create the iPhone and change the course of an entire industry. Imagine if Steve Jobs let other people add features to that device.
Using Facebook example, Arrington reminds us that people tend to finally love what they first hated :
the original News Feed was hated, now people are up in arms to keep it from changing
I completely agree with Michael.
Radio is like politics & football : everybody has an opinion, everybody knows, and any taxi driver is a great potential strategic commander in chief :-)
Look at your DJs ! Don’t they “know better” ? Come on… they “work in Radio” … for “years”… etc.
We all know about those poisons. Poison of doubt, poison of direction change, etc.
My advice ?
If you took a direction, it means you decided where you wanted to go. It means you have a GOAL to REACH.
Don’t let poison come to your ears. Simply DO NOT LISTEN to any voice around.
Success will be your reward.
